Noob Question

Hey everyone!

I’m a noob and I know it. I’m learning and that’s why I’m here. This may be a simple question. So thanks for your help and patience ahead of time.

I just ordered a dedicated server, installed cPanel, and am going through the learning curve on getting it all setup. I want to host a few of my friend’s and family member’s sites.

My question: When I’m logged in as root with my IP address and port as the URL, it has https, but it’s red and has a red line through it. I know this has something to do with an SSL certificate, I think. My confusion is that on other sites that I have that do not have an SSL certificate installed, it simply says http, without the S, and no red line.

Is this an issue? If so, how do I fix it?

If you don’t mind, can you answer in simple terms as I am still learning the ropes and language.

Thanks so much!

Cheers!
Shaun
